In Memory

Jeffrey Farkas

Jeffrey David Farkas of Beaver Falls, PA. and Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2019, at the age of 76.

Born on April 7, 1943, Jeff was the beloved son of Milton and Eva Farkas. He leaves behind his sister, Harriet Farkas Krupp of Wellesley, Maine and her husband Paul.

Jeff was the loving uncle of Kimberly Karofsky, Jill Uribe, and Elizabeth Fish. He was also a Great Uncle to  7 great nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service was held.

Jeff will always be remembered and cherished in our hearts.

It is recalled that Jeff left Beaver Falls to attend a college preparatory boarding school in Culver Indiana, the Culver Military Academy after his graduation from the 8th grade in Chippawa. He suffered a severe head injury in a motorcycle accident that left him with cognitive problems. Following his long rehab, he returned home and worked at City Market which was owned by his family as he continued his recovery. He was a good guy and a great friend to many.

I fondly remember Jeff from Chippewa grade school grades 1-8.  He was such a nice person.  Although he did not move on to BFHS with the rest of us, he was a great classmate.  So sorry he has passed.

I was sorry to read of Jeff's death. Those of us who went to elementary school in Chippewa remember him as a nice, quiet, and smart classmate. I think of him at this time of the year becasue his birthday was the day after mine. My birthday is April 6 and his was April 7.( I noticed that he died the day after his 76th birthday.) We probably often celebrated our school birthday parties on the same day. As Debbie says he did not go to BF with us but I remember reading that he had been involved in a very serious motorcycle accident as a young adult. I often wondered what his life was like after that. He had had so much potential. I hope he did well.

Jeffrey is one whom I remember at Chippewa Elementary 1-8. Knowing him was part of my learning experience in accepting people of all faiths. I'm glad that began in elementary school and continues through today. I was happy to call him my friend. May he rest in peace.
