Richard F. Principati, 72, a lifelong resident of Beaver Falls, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, January 31, 2015. Rich was born on Tuesday, January 26, 1943, in Beaver Falls, Pa. He is the son of the late Richard and Phyllis Barile Principati. He is a graduate of Beaver Falls High School, Class of 1961. Rich was a member of St. Monica Parish on College Hill where he served as an usher. He is a U.S. Army veteran who was stationed in Vietnam for one year. Rich was an active member of the Beaver Falls American Legion, Post 261, where he served as the chaplain and treasurer. Rich was also the chaplain for the Beaver County Council of the American Legion. He served as the secretary and accountant for Prince Auto Supply. He loved watching the Beaver Falls Tigers, the Pirates, and the Steelers. He is survived by his brother, Frank Principati, Chippewa Township; two nieces and their spouses, Jacquelyn and Sean Pichette, Gilbert, Arizona; Jennifer and Jon Keller, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; a great-nephew, Blake Keller; a great-niece, Addison Pichette; and a very close, lifelong friend, Richard Attisano.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com., 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Monica Church on College Hill. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Chippewa Township. The Knights of Columbus will conduct a service on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the funeral home and the American Legion will also conduct a service on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at the cemetery on Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. to conduct full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, if desired to the Beaver Falls American Legion, 716 16th Street, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.
