It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the death of our classmate and good friend, Ernie Neale.

Ernie died on Saturday, December 29 at Good Samaritan Heritage, Beaver where he had been a patient. Ernie had been receiving treatment at Heritage Valley Rehabilitation Center and Good Samaritan Heritage since July.

Ernie leaves behind Ellen, his wife of 51 years, and his sister, Connie Reinhart of Lancing, NY.

Ernie was a kind and caring person who was a friend to all who knew him. His support and concern for others, positive attitude and willingness to help as needed, were always present.

Ernie and Ellen had attended all of our class reunions until this year when Ernie was hospitalized at Good Samaritan Heritage and was not able to be with us in New Galilee even though he had registered to attend.

Ernie was loved in life and he will not be forgotten.

Funeral services will be private.

A memorial service to celebrate Ernie's life will be held in March at a time and date to be announced.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ernie's loving wife, Ellen, his family and friends.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Noll Funeral Home, 333 3rd Street Beaver, Pa.

Anyone interested in remembering Ernie may make a contribution in Ernie’s name to Saint Stephen’s Church in Sewickley, 405 Frederick Ave., Sewickley, PA 15143.

I've known Ernie since 1st grade in Patterson twp school and know he is everything stated in his obituary posted to our class of 61. He has always been upbeat even in times of difficulty. I will and I'm sure our class will miss him. Rest in peace dear friend and classmate. May got speed your journey and be with his wife and family!

Ernie was a kind human being.  That in itself is probably the best attribute one can be remembered for.  He was a gentle man, thoughtful, always thinking of others and never an unkind word about anyone.  He would call out of the blue saying “Hi honey, what’s new with you”.  He loved his classmates and was always ready and willing to assist preparations for class reunions.  Ernie will be sadly missed, but, fondly remembered.

Ernie was always one of the sweetest people I knew. We grew up a block from each other in Patterson. He was one of my oldest and best friends. The world is a darker place without the bright light that was Ernie.

Ernie, always had a great smile and time to check how you were doing.  Always loved running into him around Beaver County.  We need more people like Ernie Neale in this world.

Ernie lived across the street from me in Patterson Twp. It was a nice neighborhood, a number of the class of 61 lived in this neighborhood; Mariam Parks, Joline Mittica Mannon, Edwina Hitchin, Delores Chido, Miller, and Sonny Borello. We don't see these types of neighboods today. Ernie was a great guy, friend, and classmate. Rest in Peace brother until we are untited once again.

It seems that everyone from Patterson Twp has written a post lamenting Ernie’s passing, and they have all shown a depth of sincerity in their appreciation of Ernie and how he treated each of them.  It is hard not to notice the outstanding similarity:  All referred to Ernie’s smile as he warmly greeted everyone.

All the postings inspired me to write, but it seemed that everyone had done such a good job that all I could do would be to repeat what had already been written.  Well, that’s what I’m going to do.

I can’t recall being in any class with Ernie, and I can’t recall being in any social setting with him that was not school related.  Yet somehow Ernie and I acknowledged each other upon every chance encounter.  I have but one clear memory:  A cheerful ‘hello,’ accompanied by his well-known big-hearted and gracious smile.  Thus Ernie always made people feel good immediately, and I suspect that is why we loved and will miss him so.

So sorry to hear of Ernie's passing, Did not know him well in school but remembered his smile.  It has been so sad to see or hear of so many of our fellow classmates passing onto their next journey. Greatful to have known them, Ernie is in God's hands and will be missed.  Peace and comfort to the whole family. God Bless.
