Joyce was my best friend.  We grew up in Chippewa and attended school together from Grade 1 through graduation from Grove City College in 1965.  We kept in touch and visited when I returned to the Beaver Falls area.  I remember one time she joined my family for a summer vacation in Canada and we both took our SAT test in Toronto.  She disliked Canada and I loved it so much I moved there in 1974. I will miss her very much and wish her family many happy memories.

Joyce was a very special clasmate and I am saddened to learn of her death.  We both were in the clarinet section of the Beaver Falls High School band and we shared a lot of special times together.  My sympathy to her family and friends.

A dear, dear friend has left us. I am another of her Chippewa friends going back as far as first grade. I was fortunate enough to have lunch with Joyce and her daughter Rachel the afternoon before our reunion in 2019. Her memory was a little fuzzy but she was able to go through photo albums from elementary school and high school, recognize many people and share anecdotes about them. She will be sadly missed.

Joyce was a wonderful friendand an excellent clarinet player! We all have special meories of our friends but for me, it was a time when she and I were at one of the regional band festivals and a very handsome (and rather shy) clarinet player named Bill Bauman struck up a conversation with her.  Joyce was a little flustered by his attention and wanted to know if I thought he was interested in her.  And since it was truly obvious to see, without the aid of wrapping my head in aluminum foil, I gave my first "psychic" prediction - "Yes, Joyce, he's really interested in you."  And some years later, my daughter, Christine was the flower girl at their wedding.

Dear sweet Joyce, I'm so happy that you've now joined the love of your life, Bill and I'm sure you've making lots of wonderful music in Heaven!  With lots of love!

I wasn't a Chippewa classmate and I didn't play in the woodwind section of the band, but I did hold Joyce in the highest regard and considered her a good friend throughout out high school years.  Connie Wardman's side story here added wonderful context.  All expressions of condolence and genuine sympathy to her family.

I didn't know Joyce in high school, but I loved Connie Wardman's special story about how Joyce met Bill.  A colorful little story that brings her to life.  I do remember her playing in the band, and Beaver Falls had a really terrific band.  I always looked forward to half time shows at the fottball games.  The shows were always outstanding with great music.  My smpathy to Joyce and her family.
