In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) R. Heistand, on August 15, 2013; an infant daughter, on April 8, 1968, and her brother, Keith Harrison.

Linda will be dearly missed. Linda and I remained friends forever.  I'd pick up the phone and call her because I never forgot her number.  When she would answer, she would recognize my voice.  We always had a good laugh when we talked.  I am so saddened but know that she is now with Her love, Bill and her Collies and has no more pain or tears.  I hope to see her again one day when it is my turn.  Rest in peace my dear friend! 🥲

I'm so sorry to hear about Linda's home going. I got to spend some private time with her at two earlier reunions and will cherish our pictures we had taken. Comforting to know that she is with Bill again and Heaven is a sweeter place today. Miss you my friend.

So sorry to hear about Linda's passing. We had so many fun time times together both in band and just as friends hanging out together. She is now in heaven with her soulmate, Bill. Peace be with her daughters and their families, and her dear friends, as they grieve the emptiness left by her death. She leaves behind her artistic endeavors for so many people to cherish. Providing a wonderful home for her beloved collies, even when it was difficult for her physically, was admirable. Sending my sincere condolences, Kaye

So sorry about my College Hill neighbor, I lived right down the street and loved her mom and dad, Bob and Raberta. I know she got her love for collies as Bob always had one or two at any time while she was growing up. My condolences to her family but we know where she's at and I'm sure Bill was waiting on her with open arms.

My sister in law who lives in Chippewa told me of Linda's passing and it just brought back a flood of High School memories.  Watching her as a majorette as she and Kaye twirled their batons before the band.  The many dances which she and Bill attended with all of our group/ we changed partners but they were the "high school sweet hearts".  I also have one of her beautiful slate paintings, she made it for my son's first wife who was a friend of her daughters.  When my son divorced and "Mitchell" was no longer appropriate, it was given to me and it hangs on my  front porch in Florida.  I will now treasure it more and think of Linda often.  I know her family will miss her, but she and Bill will live on in their memories here on earth.  Heaven and Bill are throwing a party for the arrival of a new angel.

Thanks to all of the reunion committee planners and doers, I had a chance to renew my friendship with Linda. She was a good friend in high school and always ready to have fun.  I went to her house often - as I was " trusted" to drive there.  After one of the last reunions, I walked Linda out to meet her ride - her daughter who looked exactly like Bill.   Linda had many talents and will be remembered.

Bill and Linda lived in our neighborhood in Chippewa.   My husband and I would often see Bill at all the local fleamarkets looking for old roof slates, antique handsaws and various  other items.  We would later see him leaving with a handful of items for Linda to paint.  The items she painted were absolutely beautiful.  We often went to various craft shows, and her items were always the first to sell out.   I have many of her pieces throughout our home, and I have always cherished them.  My son  once asked me why there were so many of her slates on porches in Franklin, Pennsylvania.  I told him she always attended the Franklin Apple Festival.  Bill and Linda always kept us informed about some of the great craft shows to attend.  We miss sitting with them at  many of the events  and catching up with each other on our families.  As her daughters grew older, they too would attend the craft shows, and sell items they had made themselves.  It was truly a family affair. The two of them added so much beauty to our world.  May they rest in peace together..
