John Young

John W. ‘Butch’ Young, 71, of Darlington, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 23, 2014, in his residence.

Born in 1942 in Beaver Falls, PA, he was the son of the late John C. Young and Grace (Emerick) Young Martin. He was the owner and operator of John Young Trucking and the owner of the Enon Valley Inn. One of his great enjoyments was hunting.

Surviving are three children, John A. Young, Ellwood City; Michael E. (Terri) Young, Beaver Falls and Wendy J. (Allan) Pagani, East Palestine, OH; six grandchildren, Rachelle Thomas, Michael S. Young, Shawna Bonacci, Allison Pagani, John J. Young and Eric Young; four great-grandchildren, Devon Thomas, Mylee Thomas, Christian Bonacci and Lillian Moore; his ex-wife, Ruth Young Wallace; two sisters, Patricia (Mark) Sobell and Charlotte Mengel and two nieces and many, many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Eugene Martin.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the CAMPBELL’S CHIPPEWA FUNERAL HOME, 2618 Darlington Road, www.campbellfuneralhomes.com, where funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Reverend David Anderson officiating.

Private interment will be in Seceder Cemetery, Darlington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
